Glossary of Terms

• Component - a specific piece of process equipment, i.e. pump seal, connector, valve, flange, compressor seal, vent, open-ended pipe, etc.
• Open-ended line means any valve, except relief valves, having one side of the valve seat in contact with process fluid and one side open to atmosphere, either directly or through open piping
